Where do heavy metals in food come from?
Heavy metals in liquid products appear due to the use of low-quality raw materials (water, for example) and insufficient preliminary purification of it. The high level of heavy metals in plant and animal products indicates the likelihood of their cultivation in highly polluted areas (industrial or road transport).
Why is it necessary to check the content of heavy metals in food?
A high concentration of heavy metals in the human body causes a number of diseases (autism, cancer, diseases of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, kidney failure, metabolic disorders). Children and pregnant women are extremely vulnerable to the effects of heavy metals.
What should I do if a rapid test showed the presence of heavy metals in products?
Do not use that products. If necessary, contact a specialized laboratory to obtain a conclusion on the presence of heavy metals and determine their exact content. Contact the consumer protection authorities with the conclusion, and also inform the seller from whom you purchased these products.
